All that is hard to memorize

Memoraise then asks for your password to continue where you were. Where you didn't tick "Keep me logged in" (on a shared computer, for example), it always locks.

Import a deck

Each row becomes one card: the front (question) in the first column and the back (answer) in the second. Use a CSV file, or an Excel file (.xlsx) with one sheet. For text in other alphabets, save from Excel as "CSV UTF-8". A deck downloaded from Memoraise with pictures (a .zip file) is imported with its pictures.

Each side of a card can have up to 500 characters; rows with a longer side are left out. A deck name can have up to 32 characters, and its description up to 100.

Several lines, commas or quote marks in a card?

In a spreadsheet, start a new line inside a cell with Alt+Enter in Excel (Ctrl+Option+Return on a Mac), or Ctrl+Enter in Google Sheets. Saving as CSV, or importing the Excel file itself, keeps the lines.

Writing a CSV file by hand:

  • A side with line breaks or commas goes inside double quotes.
  • A quote mark inside quotes is written twice: "".
